we have underwater headphones with tabs that cover the USB charge port, we can have gaskets and screws that make commercial equipment water tight. They can easily make a phone with a rear gasket and mini screws to make the phone water tight to change the battery with ease.

You must have nerves of steel. Just tearing one ribbon cable or bending one connector pin could turn this phone into a brick. Even so if my battery ever fails I will attempt this because at that point the phone will be worthless anyway.

It is in large part because of your channel that I felt comfortable buying a 3A today when I once again dropped my phone from my lap and it broke.

That poor soul was a 2016 Gen 1 Moto Z Force.that has been through the ringer over the years including being slammed so hard in a truck door several months ago that it bent to a hilarious angle permanently. Surprisingly the only downsides to having a super bent phone if it's made from aluminum and your screen is layered plastic is that the touch gets a lot of dead zones...oh and it becomes very fragile internally when you drop it (no surprise there). But I knew that this thing was on a timer from dust and liquid ingress thanks to the gap in my frame caused by the bend.

I will be very cautious until I get a screen protector on this one because I will never trust a glass phone but damn if it isn't a nice feeling like you aren't gambling away your money thanks to a good durability and tear down video series from Zack to contemplate before hand.

Is battery life really that good I.e. will last the whole day? (Was underwhelmed with the 3 XL battery life)

Tried 2 screens from 2 different vendors, same issue. Tried on 2nd broken phone also getting same result. Anyone else experienced this issue? If remove proximity sensor then its work fine.

That said, the pixel 4 better be competitively priced for the lacking features like an ultrawide or sufficient ram to not become obsolete in a week, otherwise oneplus or Samsung might be my next pull. I haven’t had a oneplus since the Oneplus 2 so that might be a nice refresher.
