    I've been a toolmaker for 45 years and also a metrologist for 26 years. A sine bar and a set of gauge blocks are just awesome tools to have in your tool shop. It's probably the most accurate way to set something at an angle or to determine an angle.

                                                oh, and the flash light is kind of a point source, you need parallel beams, source a long way away, else parallax error, what you kind of call Trig Cos error etc. Sin (angle) = Opposite / Hypotenuse, Cos, Tan etc, my duplication.

                                                  TOT - another good video, though maybe mention SOHCAHTOA, and what the working defn of Sin, Cos, Tan, of an angle in a constructed right angle triangle is Opposite div Hypotenuse for Sin, much btr with pen, paper, in a video, and the special 3 4 5 triangle matching the size of your bar and multiples of for ease etc abbreviated explanation, maybe an addendum video, thanks.

                                                                                The people that hate trigonometry probably had bad math teachers or some other problems. With a little bit of Khan Academy, most of the people can learn trigonometry well.

                                                                                      That's why the hillbilly in another machining video said he was taught to set his top slide to 30 degrees and always leave it there. Usually you can separate the wheat from the chaff with a bucket of cold water instead of math.

                                                                                          Im pretty sure that the Sine bars are 2.5, 5, and 10 because a right angle with sides 3" and 4" long, the hypotenuse is 5". It probably makes things easier when they can test things with whole numbers.
